About Song-Gui Yang

Dr. Song-Gui Yang graduated with an MD from Hunan Medical College, Changsha, China, and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Calgary, Canada. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by a first-year pediatric cardiology fellowship at the IWK-Grace Medical Center, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He continued and completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), University of Pennsylvania. He then completed an advanced fellowship in fetal and pediatric echocardiography, all at CHOP. For almost 20 years, he has been on faculty at Children's Hospital New Orleans/LSUHSC and Tulane University School of Medicine, at Kosair Children's Hospital, and the University of Louisville. He is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Edward G. Schlieder Chair in Pediatric Cardiology at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology by American Board of Pediatrics. His interests are congenital heart diseases as well as fetal and pediatric echocardiography. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Yang loves his practice because he enjoys providing services and care to children, from before birth into adolescence. Whenever he receives hugs, smiles and /or a thank you note from a patient and family, he feels deeply rewarded for his hard work. Dr. Yang sees patients at the main campus of Children's Hospital in Uptown New Orleans, Ridgelake Health Center, and Children's Hospital Covington Health Center.
