Patricio Arias Valencia, MD

Dr. Patricio Arias is a Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition specialist at Manning Family Children's. Dr. Arias also serves as the Director of Pediatric Hepatology and Medical Director of Liver Transplant Program. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. He then completed his residency training at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, FL and completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Stanford University/Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. When asked why he chose to specialize in this field, Dr. Arias explained, "It is an area in pediatrics that allows me to see a wide range of conditions. Among these conditions, my area of expertise is in liver transplantation which allows me to establish relationships with patients and their families during very difficult times. Both the family and physician can recognize the great gift of life. Organ donation saves lives." Dr. Arias is fluent in both English and Spanish.
