About Kirk Thame

Dr. Kirk Thame is a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist and an expert in pediatric neurogastroenterology and gastrointestinal motility disorders. He serves as Division Head of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, as well as Medical Director of the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Center and Medical Director of the Colorectal Clinic.

Throughout his career, Dr. Thame has developed innovative programs to improve the care of children with complex digestive disorders. He established the first pediatric gastroenterology service in Jamaica and has since led the development of nationally recognized motility and multidisciplinary colorectal programs at major children's hospitals, including Children's of Alabama and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Thame specializes in caring for children with chronic constipation, fecal incontinence, swallowing disorders, abdominal pain, disorders of gut motility, and other complex gastrointestinal conditions. He is committed to providing compassionate, family-centered care using the latest diagnostic techniques and evidence-based treatments to help children achieve the best possible quality of life.

    Wish he did his procedures in Lafayette (locally). VERY INCONVENIENT to have to drive 2 hours away for a colonoscopy. Other than that he was great!
