I specialize in Child Neurology. I chose to become a physician as this career path combined my passion for science and the ability to work with medically complex children. Due to personal experiences, I find it rewarding to work with families of neurodivergent children and to bring further education and empowerment to this community. As a child neurologist, I am continually reminded of the complexity of medicine and am inspired by my patients and their families. It is my passion to educate and empower my patients and their families. I also strive to provide the quality care they deserve.
My little something extra
I enjoy serving my patient population outside of the medical setting and hope to continue to participate in events such as the MS 150 bike ride.

I love Dr. Kayla Pennsy. She is amazing. She is patient. My daughter is a real special needs child from adopted. And even with no past history, she found out everything she needed and she has went above and beyond for her. And even if I just feel like something's going wrong with a seizure, I can put in a phone call and I'm going to get an answer. And that to me means everything. She's the best. She is sweet. She is caring. And my little girl likes her. And that says a lot. And so do I.

She went above and beyond to help my son. He is autistic and couldn't get on the elevator to go up. So she went out of her way to do a Zoom meeting for me and my son. And we really appreciate that. Not all doctors would have done that. Thank you.

Very knowledgeable and maintains excellent bedside manner, soaks to my child, not just me....kind and loving. So blessed to have found Dr. Pence and her entire crew!

Dr. Pence is an excellent professional. I have no words to express how grateful I am for her service. She's a doctor who listens to you, has empathy, and is very respectful. I'm very grateful. She's a gem, and I would totally recommend her. I would stay with her. She's been a great help with my daughter's health. Excellent, Doctor.

Was a great doctor and team- but was in small room with toddler for 1 hour due to nurse taking input than resident then finally doctor- would have loved if the resident/student came in with nurse or doctor so I didn't have to repeat myself 3 times.
