Elayna Bailey, CPNP-AC

Elayna is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Manning Family Children's, where she plays an integral role in providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease. She is part of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates with the cardiac intensivists and cardiothoracic surgeons to develop and implement comprehensive care plans. 

In addition to her work in the CICU, Elayna is committed to quality, patient-centered care. She collaborates with social work, case management, outpatient cardiology, child-life therapy, and psychology teams to ensure a holistic approach to treatment. As an active member of the CICU Quality Improvement Committee, she contributes to initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and the quality of care.

Prior to her role in the CICU, Elayna served as a Nurse Practitioner in Pain Management at Manning Family Children's, where she helped establish an acute multidisciplinary pain management team, developed comprehensive pain management protocols, and provided essential education to staff and families. Her contributions also included spearheading research initiatives focused on opioid reduction and enhancing non-pharmacological pain management techniques.

Elayna holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is passionate about improving care for children and their families, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to her practice.
