David Yu, MD

Dr. David Yu specializes in Pediatric Surgery at Children's Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency training. He then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Dr. Yu is certified by the American Board of Surgery and serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery and Program Director for General Surgery Residency at Tulane University School of Medicine.  At Children’s Hospital New Orleans, Dr. Yu serves as the Service Line Chief of Pediatric Surgery and Trauma Medical Director.  Dr. Yu cares for patients at the Children's Hospital Main Campus in New Orleans and has been instrumental in leading his team over the past several years to help Children’s Hospital be verified as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
