Dr. King attended Tulane University for his undergraduate education where he studied history and architecture. Following university, he spent a year in Japan teaching English.
Dr. King graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois and completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California and a residency in dental anesthesiology at Mt. Sinai Hospital and School of Medicine in New York City.
Dr. King practiced in New York City for 10 years before returning to New Orleans in 2014. Prior to joining Children's Hospital full-time, Dr. King was an Associate Professor at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he maintains an academic appointment in the Department of Surgery. For Dr. King, working in, and having the support of a Children's Hospital allows him to focus his attention on, and to provide the highest level of care for our pediatric, adolescent and young adult population. A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. King has over 26 years of experience in both private practice and academics.
Dr. King joined Manning Family Children's as an employed member of the medical staff in 2020 where he serves as the Service Line Chief for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
