I specialize in Pediatric Urology which is the surgical care of genital and urinary tracts in kids. I went into medicine to help people live happier, healthier lives. Working with kids allows me to make an impact that can last a lifetime. As a urologist, I like that I am able to help kids some of the most common problems in childhood as well as rare and complex problems. I also treat some of the most awkward and embarrassing topics to talk about and like being able to normalize these issues for patients and families, usually while trying to make them laugh at the same time. I like being able to normalize topics that a lot of people feel awkward talking about and trying to make them laugh while doing it. In caring for pediatric patients, l focus on both short term and long-term outcomes. Keeping in mind that the care I provide has to last a patient's lifetime. My clinical interests include robotic surgery on the kidney, ureter, and bladder. I also have an interest in quality improvement. My little something extra
I fell in love with the city of New Orleans during my residency training and was so happy to be able to come back after completing my fellowship. Since living here Mardi Gras has become my favorite holiday.

I feel like Dr. Raines is very patient with my daughter, thoughtful, and listens to her fears and what's going on right now with her body.

Well, I think she's a very kind doctor, and especially the staff. They do explain things well enough, it's easy to understand, and so far, I think the kindness and everything is fine.
