Dr. Staci Olister is an Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at LSU Health Sciences Center and has been a neonatologist at Children's Hospital since 1997. Dr. Olister is a native New Orleanian who attended LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans followed by a pediatric residency at LSUHSC and a joint neonatology fellowship at LSUHSC-Tulane University. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Among other administrative duties, Dr. Olister serves as the Medical Director of Nurseries at Touro Infirmary. Her clinical and research interests include the implementation of protocols to provide consistency in care and improve neonatal outcomes. Dr.Olister advocates for a neurodevelopmentally supportive environment for infants in the NICU and is working toward a better understanding of trauma-informed care for infants and their families and translating that understanding into clinical practice. A little something extra: Dr. Olister is a former professional ballet dancer who now enjoys practicing yoga and communing with her many rescue dogs.
